Bivacco Fanton —
Windows that stand up to anything Everything is extreme.

At an altitude of 2667 meters, in the Forcella Marmarole, in the heart of the Dolomites, the new Fanton bivouac stands out in a vast space. An essential structure designed to withstand — and the windows are an integral part of that resistance: not simply openings, but elements that seal the stability and safety of the entire structure, transforming it into a protective shell at high altitude.

The technical challenge was twofold. On the one hand, designing windows capable of withstanding the extreme climatic conditions of the alpine environment — wind, snow, violent temperature fluctuations. On the other hand, ensuring that those same windows could withstand the mechanical stresses of helicopter transport, the only possible way to reach the altitude. Two requirements that rarely are tackled together, and that required solutions designed from scratch.

Aldena’s responses met both needs, seamlessly integrating with the structure’s essential style and the austere beauty of the surrounding landscape. A project that goes beyond the window: it is engineering applied to the mountains.
